Sorry I've been MIA. It's been a busy month with training at work. I just got my new job and on my third week in training. Also, my 10th anniversary is coming up and I'll be busy w/ that all next month. Looking forward to Sept!!!! That's the big day when me and my hubby renew our vows. DIY Facial Scrubs for all different types of skin

Ever wanted to create your own facial scrub using fresh ingredients? Try this.

A word of caution about these scrubs: you don’t want to exfoliate every day. Once or twice a week is just perfect for maintaining healthy, glowing skin! More than that can cause oiliness, dryness or breakouts as your skin compensates for the “lost” moisture. You’ll want to mix up very small batches- enough for just one or two uses – since these recipes are food-based and won’t keep for too long on the shelf.

Dry Skin

To help ease dry skin, you’ll want to gently exfoliate while also moisturizing. ehow has a fantastic scrub that uses olive oil and avocado to moisturize and sugar to smooth. If your skin is exceptionally dry, follow this up with a little bit of olive oil to moisturize even more. You might also try drinking more water to treat your skin right from the inside out!

Normal Skin

To gently moisturize and exfoliate normal skin, try mixing a bit of sugar and baking soda with enough sesame oil to form a paste. If this feels a bit too oily for your skin, you can also try half oil and half honey in the mix.

Oily Skin

We knew oatmeal was good for your insides…who knew it was great for your face? You can make a simple oatmeal scrub by combining equal parts ground oatmeal and deeply steeped, cooled chamomile tea. Add a little bit of honey and a drop of tea tree oil, and you’re ready to scrub. This recipe also works with spent coffee grounds in place of the oatmeal. Invigorating!

No matter what your skin type, you might enjoy following this up with a soothing green tea toner. Just steep the tea for about 10 minutes and let it cool. Put it in a spray bottle and spritz on or apply with a clean cloth. Voila!

Jane Blushing Earth

About 3-4 months ago, I kept hearing about Nars Orgasm blush everywhere. So many ppl were raving about it and I was wondering what the big deal was. So I decided, I'm a bargain shopper and love to improvise if I can. I happened to research into Nars Orgasm dupes. Found a few drugstore shades and the only one that kind of caught my eyes was the Jane in Blushing Earth. Since I work across the street from Kmart, I knew they carry Jane, and I was in luck (Price $3.99). :)

Yes it's pretty sheer but buildable. It does have some shine in it, but not overly done.

Here it is on my cheek:

Very sheer, I did only applied it on how I would normally so it's not visible to the camera. Sorry!!!

My thoughts, I like it. Its very subtle and adds enough color to give you a healthy natrual summer glow. I do recommend this if you have light to olive skin tone. I'm not sure if it'll show up on dark skin tone, but doesn't hurt to try. :) Hope you enjoyed it!

My wedding dress fitting #1!!! :)

So yesterday I went in for my first fitting. Ended up needing 1.5in hemmed and a under bustle aka french bustle. My dress has been at the shop for over a month and I missed it so much. Its going to be there for another month for my 2nd fitting!!! How will I manage to lose a few more lbs if I have nothing to look at for motivation? LOL Well Enjoy and Happy Friday!

WnW Eyeshade Pallete Swatches and Eyewear #2

This is pallete #248 Lust

From my previous swatch from the WnW Pride Pallete, this was also the other one that I purchased at the same time for $2.99 at my local grocery store. Again, I've seen them run from $3.99-4.99 at my Walgreens and CVS.

This is the pearl finish.

It looks brown in the picture, but actually it's a deep purple/brown. It kinda reminds me of the midnight moon. :)

Overall, this is another impressive pallete. Yes I highly recommend this too. I really enjoyed the two WnW palletes I purchased. They have fun shades and also neutral shades. Unforunately, the neutral shades were out of stock and I have enough neutral palletes already.

ELF Duo Blush and Bronzer

I apologize, but I do not remember if this had a name on the box. I purchased it at my local Target for $3.00.

I've seen comparsion of this from YT Gurus with the Nars. I cannot say since I do not own any Nars products. But I'm into the coral/pink shade for summer so wanted to explore my options.

Overall, this product is nice to have. Nothing to rave about, but I like it. It does what it's supposed to do. I'm not a big bronzer user, so to me I guess it does the job. If you like shimmer in your blush, this blush definitely has a shine to it. Its a great duo for $3 and fun for summer.

Wet N Wild Eyeshadw Pallete Swatches and Eyewear

This is the #247 Pride Pallete

I saw this at my local grocery store for $2.99. I had to get it since some MU Gurus are raving about the pigmentation and some dupes of MAC. These are nomrally running from $3.99-4.99 at Walgreens and CVS. I just couldn't help but grab a couple of them. :D

And this is the pearl side. Just look at them. Are they just like "kabam"!?

Overall, I was very pleased with this product. I like it a lot and yes this is pigmented and speaks for itself. It was a great first impression. I would recommend this if you're new to cosmetics, on a budget, or love to explore like me. I love to find makeup that works well and a nice price tag.

I'm having an affair......

Okay, so some of you who's been following me knows that I love my Shu Uemura eyelash curler. It cost me $20 and it was a great investment for my asian almond eyes....

Well...I'll have to share that I think I found a DUPE!!!!!!!!!! YES a DUPE! I went to For Love (FE21 accessory store) and happened to run into their eyelash curler called Love and Beauty brand. Guess how much it cost me??? $5? Nope. $3? Nope. ONLY $1.80!!!!!!!!!!! I'm loving it and looking from the package, I thought it came very close to my Shu. (which I was right!!!)

Here are some pix of it and some comparison. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!

The Shu is just slightly angled more.

The FE21 opens wider

The contour shape of it is identical.

The paddings are thick and firm.

And the FE21 has a wider mouth.

Overall, I love this as a replacement for my Shu. The only thing is, this does not come with an extra pad. I'm very pleased of the packaging, works like a charm.

Camping Pix

So camping during Memorial weekend was a good time away from the city lifestyle. It was very relaxing and sometimes, too much time doing nothing. So we had our afternoon naps too. LOL Other than that, we did keep ourselves busy most of the time, either BBQing or playing some sport or game.

Hope you all had a great 3 day weekend!!! OH and my Nails For The Week below!!! Check em out! Us girls did a simple manicure our first night there. It was done by our friend Jina. :)

Kohl's brand Flirt! in Flirtious. This smells sooooo GOOD! I got it on sale for $29.15 and used a 15% coupon and got a free spring tote w/ this deal. I was able to pass my coupon onto the mother who stood behind me line. :)

So, I think some of you may know that my 10th Anniversary is coming up and we will be renewing our vows in September. I've been busy putting things together. So far here's what I got.....

The DRESS!!!

Now I'll need your vote for this. I handmade two flower hairclips and I like both. I haven't had the chance to try it on w/ the dress since my dress was mistakenly ordered in 'regular' length and not petite...ended up having to exchange it for the right length about 3 wks ago. (I got an e-mail today that my dress in petite is in!! 8D)

I'm kind of leaning on clip 2 since it has a bling center and it might match my dress details, but I'm liking the tulle on the first one. Please help me pick! :)
